Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves transporting supplies, tools, and equipment to remote backcountry areas using horses or mules, while also caring for the animals and managing ranch pastures.
It's ideal for someone with hands-on experience in animal handling and outdoor work who enjoys rugged, nature-based tasks in a forest setting.
The role requires physical fitness and the ability to work independently in challenging wilderness environments.
This position is located on a Region 5 Forest Service Ranger District. This position is responsible for packing supplies and equipment to backcountry locations by horse or mule.
This position is also responsible for the complete care of the stock and ranch and pasture management.
