PUERTO RICO NATIONAL GUARD ARMY TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT DUTY LOCATION: Maneuver Area Training and Equipment Site (MATES), CSJTC, Salinas, PR AREA OF CONSIDERATION: HRO MUST process and clear the Department of Defense (DoD), Priority Placement Program (PPP), prior to advertising all internal and external job vacancies and promotion announcements.
AREA 1 = All permanent Technician Officers, Warrant Officers and Enlisted members employee (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard.
AREA 2 = All indefinite Technician Officers, Warrant Officers and Enlisted members employee (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard.
First round consideration will be given to Area 1 Candidates.
(All other Areas will be screened only in the event that there are no qualified or recommended Candidates) To prevent a grade inversion, military rank allowed for this position will be determined at the final evaluation of the vacancy announcement considering the military rank of the supervisor.
Acceptance of any military technician position may cause the termination of entitlements and eligibility for all military bonuses and student loan repayments.

DUTIES: As a ALLIED TRADE SUPERVISOR (D1230000),WS-3401-11, you will supervise workers directly or through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing the work of the function.
Plans work operations of great scope, complexity, and administrative authority.
Determines the sequence, priority, and time for the performance of particular operations within the limits of broad work schedules and time limits.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work assignments require light to moderate physical effort. Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise handles items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Occasionally handles items greater than 40 pounds. Assistance is usually available with heavy items. Works in a sitting position for extended periods.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping are required. Occasionally climbs and works in high places.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an environment which is well lighted, heated, and ventilated. Some work may be performed under field conditions.
Subject to normal hazards of the trade skills to include the possibility of cuts, bruises, scrapes, shocks, and broken bones, and serious burns.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which demonstrates the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year in the occupational series code 3401 or the equivalent EIGHTEEN (18) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as preparing for and participating in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, and mobilization and command support exercises; implementing regulatory safety requirements; performing the nonsupervisory work of the function; determining training needs of subordinates; investigating work related problems; implementing corrective actions within their authority; and establishing deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and planning work assignments.
