This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a AIRCRAFT PROPELLER MECHANIC, Position Description Number PDD0710000, and is part of the SC AASF 2, South Carolina Army National Guard.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Areas 1 & 2.
Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft propeller assemblies and their components in accordance with technical specifications, procedures and requirements.
Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft propellers, assemblies, and accessories.
Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft propellers, components, for rotary wing aircraft.
Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.

This position performs maintenance, removal, installation, inspection, troubleshooting and testing of aircraft rotor and propeller systems.
Work involves the troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, modifying, testing, and servicing aircraft propeller assemblies and their components and straightening of propeller blades.
The work requires an overall knowledge of hydraulic, electric, and mechanical controls and drive mechanisms, valves, synchrophasers, and other components of the complete propeller assembly.
