The primary purpose of this position is to As part of the QA staff, evaluates the quality of maintenance accomplished and performs necessary functions to manage the wing/group's Maintenance Standardization Evaluation Program (MSEP).

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-8600, Engine Overhaul Group.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The screen out element for this position is ability to do the work of a WG-8268 AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS INSPECTOR without more than normal supervision.

JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.

Comprehensive knowledge of various aircraft pneudraulic and fuel system equipment to inspect processes and procedures with knowledge of assigned aircraft (i.e., KC-135, C-17, or related civilian aircraft equivalent) maintenance operations, processes, policies and procedures.

2. Ability to interpret manufacturing terminology, data, standards and instructions, and to relate them properly to the particular problem solving projects and in maintaining effective follow-up. 3.

Knowledge and skill of appropriate production processes and material posture to assure continuing availability of mission capable aircraft. 4.

Must have high degree of analytical ability to collect data, perform inspections and develop solutions to improve maintenance operations with the ability to collect, compile and correlate inspection data from a variety of sources.

Individual must be computer literate and have the ability to document work assignments through the use of AFTO Form 781 series and automated maintenance management systems with skill in oral and written communication.

6. Ability to wear a respirator, pass an annual job specific occupational physical and ability to enter and exit the fuel tank access opening/door on assigned aircraft.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Frequently required to work in awkward, cramped and confined spaces when inspecting fuel bladder cell work and integral fuel tank components and to inspect application of sealants.

Frequently handles objects weighing up to 20 pounds and on occasion up to 50 pounds. Other workers may be available to assist in moving heavier items.

Required to lift, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, crawl, with considerable standing, walking and climbing in and out of aircraft. Frequently required to enter and exit small fuel tank access openings.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside. Outside work may be performed in adverseweather. Some work is performed on the flightline and is subject to loud noise from jet engines.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Major Duties:

Accomplishes Quality Verification Inspections on assigned aircraft pneudraulic systems, components, equipment, performs Personnel Evaluations and other/surveillance inspections in accordance with the Quality Maintenance Evaluation Program.

Accomplishes Quality Verification Inspections on assigned aircraft fuel system components, equipment, performs Personnel Evaluations and other/surveillance inspections in accordance with the Quality Maintenance Evaluation Program.

Visually inspects repaired aircraft Pneudraulic and fuels system components for defects or errors in repair work or modification.

Conducts maintenance analysis referrals and other special studies that may identify technical or managerial deficiencies. Performs other related Quality Assurance duties.

Investigates and prepares reports on accidents/incidents on aircraft/equipment and personnel. Interprets technical orders, specifications, bulletins, drawings, messages, etc.
