Full Job Description

You will serve as an Aircraft Overhaul & Repair Supervisor in the MRO Production Department, Production Lines Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.

Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE: 1) Managing manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and other resources to accomplish work operations; 2) Establishing priorities, deadlines and task sequencing to comply with productions plans; 3) Displaying journeymen-level knowledge and experience from any of the various aircraft platforms and trades sufficient to direct the work of artisans either directly or indirectly through subordinate leaders, in accomplishing trade and labor operations; 4) Utilizing local Quality Instructions to conduct monthly audits, inspections, and investigations to ensure compliance with Command policies and applicable business processes remain intact; and 5) Communicating to management on a variety of issues, as well as effectively communicating with shop artisans on compliance issues and work requirements.

  • You will plan the use of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and other resources to accomplish work operations planned on a day-to-day basis.
  • You will track and monitor all work with in assigned areas, looking for cost overruns, inefficiency, incorrect workload standards, training, deficiencies, support deficiencies, etc.
  • You will take steps to resolve problems by determining the cause, finding solutions and taking corrective action.
  • You will observe work in progress to assure on time completion and verify the quality going into the product.
  • You will maintain administrative records for employees to include time and attendance, man hours expended and labor attestations.
  • You will participate in the hiring or promotion process of candidates by serving as a rating panel member or serving as an EEO representative.
