The primary purpose of this position, Aircraft Ordnance Systems Repair Inspector WG-6652-11, is to provide aircraft ordnance systems depot level support to DoD activities.
Responsible for troubleshooting, repair, installation, modification, and operational and functional testing and adjustment of aircraft ordnance systems, equipment, and components.
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6600 Armament Work Family.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation and Repair Technical Practices theoretical, precise, artistic.
Use of Measuring Instruments. Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, includes blueprints reading.
Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Trouble shooting PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work requires standing, bending, stooping, climbing, stretching, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions and hard to reach places.
Frequently lift parts and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed either inside or outside, and subjects the employee to prevailing weather conditions, noise,slippery or uneven surfaces, and working in confined areas.
Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, burns, grease, oil, dirt, electrical shock, and possible injury when de-arming and arming the system. Major Duties:
Inspect Aircraft Ordnance Systems, components, and equipment that has been repaired, modified, overhauled, and functionally and operationally checked, such as missile and special weapons launching devices, decoys, egress and jettison systems, and rocket launching equipment.
Perform a complete inspection of armament systems, equipment, and related components after work has been completed on the aircraft.
Conduct "power on" checks of the aircraft ordnance system by energizing the system with APU power source.
Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.
