Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of mechanics in maintaining and repairing the weapons systems on aircraft, including inspecting, fixing, and troubleshooting ordnance equipment at an Air National Guard base in Tucson, Arizona.

It's a hands-on leadership role that combines technical repair work with guiding others on the job.

A good fit would be someone with military experience as a technical sergeant or equivalent, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to organize and direct a small team in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Key Requirements

  • At least 24 months of journeyman-level experience in aircraft ordnance systems repair, modification, and installation

Full Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER T32, PDD1898P01 and is part of the AZ 162nd Wing, National Guard.

Military Grades: Must possess TSgt/E-6 Compatible Military Assignments: 2A673 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 24 months experience at the journeyman level [Experience or training in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair, and installation of ordnance systems.

Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedies where complex relationships exist. Experience in hand tools and the use of a variety of measuring and test equipment.

Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's specifications.] and possess experience demonstrating the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related to the repair function of this occupational series.

Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment.

The ability to guide others in work related directly to this occupational series. Major Duties:

This position is located at the 162nd in Tucson, Arizona. The primary purpose of this position is to lead subordinates in the performance of weapon systems maintenance.

In addition, duties include journey level work, which involve the inspection, repairing, modifying, overhauling, maintaining, installing/removing, troubleshooting, and analyzing performance of aircraft ordnance systems.
