Full Job Description

This AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC position, is located in the Munitions Section of the Avionics Maintenance Branch at Air Rescue and Recovery units and is part of the CA 129 RQW.

General Experience: Possess experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components; Ability to use sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specifications and engineering drawings; Experience which demonstrates skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks.

AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-6652-10: Must have at least 18 months experience or training in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems; Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedy where complex relationships exist; Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment; Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment; Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.

Preventive Maintenance Technical Problem Solving Major Duties:

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION Indefinite appointment cannot exceed 5 years.

Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered.

The primary purpose of the AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-6652-10, is to upload and download mission munitions, organizational and intermediate level maintenance of assigned weapons, launchers, adapters, dispensers, and installed weapons release systems, and the storage, inspection, and inventory of assigned munitions.

May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.
