District of Columbia Air National Guard Joint Base Andrews, MD AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC WG-6652-11 Group 3- Current or former uniformed service members (Active, Reserve, Guard) nationwide who are eligible for military membership in the DCANG.

**THIS IS NOT A CIVILIAN POSITION.

MILITARY MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED** Permanent Change of Station (PCS): PCS not authorized Relocation Incentive: Incentive may be authorized Selected Reserve Incentive Program: Acceptance of this position will cause termination of Federal bonuses pursuant to respective Selected Reserve Incentive Programs (SRIP).

This termination may be with or without recoupment of payments already made.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military rank and assignment in the District of Columbia Air National Guard.

Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components.

Experience which demonstrates skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience demonstrating the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related to the repair function of this occupational series.

Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment.

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement The National Guard's full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments.

Minimum Military Rank: E-6 /TSgt Maximum Military Rank: E-7/MSgt Other requirements: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within One

year of appointment. This position is located in an Air National Guard (ANG) Aviation Wing, Aircraft Maintenance Group, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Weapons Element.

The primary purpose of this position is to lead subordinates in the performance of aircraft ordnance work and electronic work that consist of complex electronic and aircraft ordnance systems maintenance.

Duties: Provides direction and advice to resolve problems on aircraft ordnance and electronic systems on fighter aircraft.

Monitors work of assigned personnel, sets the work pace, conveys work assignments, and ensures that materials, tools, equipment, and stock are available.

Coordinates and works with weapon system mechanics and specialists performing journey level work.

Serves as a technical advisor by answering questions regarding appropriate procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives.

Assures that all safety, housekeeping, security, and other environmental rules and procedures are followed in the shop and the flight line.

Advises the supervisor of overall work operations, status and progress of work, causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance. Performs other duties as assigned.
