District of Columbia Army National Guard Fort Belvoir, VA AIRCRAFT MECHANIC WG-8852-12 Group 3 - Current or former uniformed service members (Active, Reserve, Guard) nationwide who are eligible for military membership in the (DCARNG) **THIS IS NOT A CIVILIAN POSITION.

MILITARY MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED** Permanent Change of Station (PCS): PCS not authorized Relocation Incentive: Incentive may be authorized Selected Reserve Incentive Program: Acceptance of this position will cause termination of Federal bonuses pursuant to respective Selected Reserve Incentive Programs (SRIP).

This termination may be with or without recoupment of payments already made.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military rank and assignment in the District of Columbia Army National Guard.

Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications.

Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to journey-level experience or training equivalent to or exceeding the WG-10 or WU-10 grade level, positions at this grade level may include performing duties as a dedicated crew chief.

Other positions may include responsibility for performing, coordinating, and/or overseeing the work and any periodic inspections to be done on an aircraft whether it is alone, or with the assistance of other mechanics and/or workers.

Some positions may include coordinating the work of other journey-level workers in other trades to work simultaneously on the aircraft.

Other positions may include serving as the technical authority to advise on, examine, and approve all airframe, mechanical, electrical, and pneudraulic repairs of assigned aircraft.

The National Guard's full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments.

For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within One

year of appointment. This position is located in the Logistics function of an ARNG Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF).

This is an Army National Guard (ARNG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification.

The purpose of this position is to act as an aircraft mechanic with responsibility for certifying airworthiness and managing the operational readiness of one or more aircraft, and proficiency training of supported aviation unit personnel.

Responsibilities include detailed technical oversight of individual aircraft's level of mission capabilities and operational readiness IAW Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) title 14 Part 43 rules governing the maintenance, preventive maintenance, rebuilding and alteration of aircraft having a U.S.

airworthiness certificate as well as guidelines and projection of maintenance requirements per the UH-72A Program Office to maintain individual aircraft operational readiness, ensuring aircraft meet airworthiness compliance as stipulated within the Army's UH-72A Continued Airworthiness Maintenance Plan (CAMP).

Duties: Manages, monitors or performs overall maintenance within the CAMP and FAA framework, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical, high performance UH-72A military aircraft.

Requests maintenance services exceeding AASF capabilities or time constraints.

Controls and performs work assignments based upon priorities, workload availability of UH-72A parts, facilities, material and personnel.

Maintains UH-72A aircraft under FAA and manufacturer guidelines and conducts inspections IAW Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance publications and special inspection criteria as outlines in FAA, OEM and Army maintenance and safety messages.
