Full Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1063000 and is part of the NC ASO, National Guard (ASO-AASF 2/ Manning Doc 4622-032).

Military Grades: Enlisted (E7 and below) It is the intention of NGB/AVS the incumbent has the following qualifications: -- Must have three years experience and/or appropriate training in such functions as troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, servicing, inspecting, and modifying aircraft, aircraft installed equipment and related ground support equipment.

-- Must have experience and/or appropriate training that would demonstrate a thorough knowledge of aircraft systems and components in electrical, fuel, hydraulic, environmental and mechanical principles.

Insures proper work sequence planning and review, and a thorough understanding of technical orders, maintenance regulations and management operating procedures.

-- The incumbent must possess or be eligible for award of the appropriate security clearance for this position.

-- The incumbent may be required for NGB Non-Aviator Flying Status and qualified for Class III flying duties.

Minimum Requirements: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications.

Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (must have at least 3 years) experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification.

Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Major Duties:

  • As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, WG-8852-11/12, you will manage, monitor or perform overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical, high performance military aircraft; ensure Unit Level Logistics-Aviation (ULLS-A) and other aircraft documentation accurately reflect status and airworthiness of assigned aircraft; clear Red X status symbols on aircraft forms for work performed by others; plan, develop and conduct proficiency training during the technician work week to a multi-faceted workforce comprised of Full Time Support (FTS) and supported unit personnel; prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and support exercises; perform other duties as assigned.
