Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

This job involves inspecting and evaluating the condition of military aircraft, engines, and parts to decide how much repair or overhaul they need, working at a naval facility in North Carolina.
The role requires hands-on checks, some light maintenance tasks, and ensuring everything follows safety and quality rules.
It's a good fit for experienced aircraft mechanics or technicians who enjoy detailed inspections and have a background in aviation trades without needing constant oversight.
You will serve as an AIRCRAFT EXAMINER in the MRO PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT of FLTREADCEN EAST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION 1) Examine, evaluate, and analyze the condition of aircraft, aircraft engines, and their components and accessories to determine the depth of overhaul required for the particular aircraft and engines, including as a paramount requirement, sufficient skill in and knowledge of the trades and labor work performed as it pertains to Aircraft Mechanic, Sheet Metal Mechanic, Composite/Plastic Fabricator, Aircraft Electrician and Electronics Mechanic trades.
2) Determine general condition, prescribes extent of disassembly, and specifies any departures to be made from standard overhaul process.
3) Performs minor trade work to facilitate inspections & evaluations.
Complies with all required processes and instructions for proper documentation of aviation maintenance, removals, FOD free and prior-to-closure inspections, and all other quality and safety requirements as applicable.
