This job involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft engines for the Navy, including disassembling parts, using tools to diagnose issues, and guiding junior staff on technical fixes.
It's ideal for experienced mechanics who enjoy hands-on work with complex machinery and can work independently in a military setting.
A good fit would be someone with practical skills in engine repair and a knack for reading technical diagrams.
You will serve as an AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC in the INDUSTRIAL EXECUTION DEPARTMENT, PRODUCTION TRADES DIVISION of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION, and performing common tasks as a Aircraft Engine Mechanic including: 1) Repairing aircraft systems, subsystems and assemblies; and 2) Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematic diagrams.
