The primary purpose of this position, AIRCRAFT ELECTRO-ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER, WL-2801-12, to lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a substantially full time and continuing basis.

Leader is responsible to both perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work.

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2800 Electrical Installation and Maintenance Family.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is Ability To Lead Or Supervise.

JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of Electrical Equipment. 2.

Theory and Instruments (Electrical, Electronic) Used in Shop and Trade Practices. 3. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) 4. Ability To Use Electrical Drawings. 5.

Ability to Use and Maintain Hand Tools (Electrical Work). 6. Trouble Shooting (electrical). PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Effort: Requires ability to lift, hold and position heavy parts, and to work in strained and cramped position.

Requires normal color perception, good eye, hand coordination and finger dexterity, and ability to work "blind" by touch sense.

Working Conditions: The work requires standing, bending, stooping, climbing, stretching, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions and in hard to reach places.

Frequently lifts parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. May be exposed to hazardous and toxic substances.

Reason for upgrading is reconstitution of incumbent's position into successor position and position is not a clear successor or there are other employees serving in similar or identical positions to whom these duties could have been assigned.

Major Duties:

-Lead a team of trades and/or labor workers -Perform nonsupervisory trades and/or labor work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the work crew led.

-Oversee the implementation of the master formal training plan. -Troubleshoot a variety of total aircraft ordnance systems such as missile and special weapons launching devices.

-Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area.
