Conditions of Employment cont.

Must be able and willing to accept a mission essential position which requires me to report to work and/or remain at work regardless of inclement weather; national disasters/emergencies.

I understand mission essential positions require the employee to continue to perform essential functions during contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather situations or other emergency situations.

These mission essential functions are existing functions that enable the Federal government to continue to provide the necessary, vital services during time of need and require great commitment of the civilian employee.

USAF air mobility rated (pilot or navigator) background and extensive experience working in an Air Mobility Division is highly desirable.

Non-rated air mobility aircrew members may also be considered if highly experienced as an air mobility airlift planner working in an Air Mobility Division.

Shift work, to include nights and weekends, will be required throughout the year to support various contingencies, exercises, and airlift barrel functions.

In addition, work may extend beyond normal hours and over weekends and holidays, should the situation dictate.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Transportation Operations Series 2150 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector).

Knowledge of aircraft systems, capabilities and limitations to include range, fuel requirement, configuration, and landing and takeoff weight restrictions to ensure that safe and proper mission scheduling have been accomplished; and in addition, when requesting diplomatic clearances since aircraft altitude/air speed capabilities, aircraft systems, and special requirements for medical evacuation missions all affect diplomatic clearance request procedures.
