Summary

This job involves fixing and maintaining large heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems for naval facilities in Florida, including troubleshooting mechanical issues and installing control systems.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the ???????Public Works of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will locate and repair malfunctions to the main operating mechanical components of large, complex heating, ventilation; air conditioning, and refrigeration systems (HVAC).
  • You will disassemble and repair a variety of components including compressors, evaporators, condensers, cooling oils, air handlers, bearings, water control valves, air dampers, etc.
  • You will conduct visual and audible examination of equipment components by applying prescribed test procedures and equipment's, and by exploration or probable reasons for equipment failure.
  • You will perform maintenance, calibration, modification, installation, repair and replacement of analog and direct digital controls (DDC) systems and equipment.
