Full Job Description

You will serve as an AEROSPACE ENGINEER in the MQ-25 FST ENGINEERING DIVISION of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Exhibiting a thorough understanding of Air Vehicle (AV) in-service fleet support and/or Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) related to reliability centered maintenance (RCM); 2) Providing AV RCM engineering guidance to others; 3) Analyzing AV RCM related issues; and 4) Drafting RCM engineering technical products.

  • You will coordinate the technical research of complex air vehicle engineering issues (e.g. solving uncommanded pitch inputs from unknown sources, or coordinating technical aspects of service life extension efforts).
  • You will plan and conduct engineering investigations individually, as a member of a team or as team leader, depending on the complexity of the project.
  • You will identify, plan, and evaluate corrective action for air vehicle deficiencies of significant proportions to improve reliability, maintainability, survivability, interchangeability, safety, accuracy and economy.
  • You will conduct engineering analyses and investigations to support in-service engineering including repair, overhaul, modification, operation, maintenance, manufacture and to improve reliability and maintainability.
  • You will solve air vehicle engineering problems that require modification or adaptation of standard guides, procedures, methods and techniques which require special consideration of in-service engineering planning, scheduling, and coordination.
