About the Position: The Forensic Healthcare Programs focus on providing high-quality, trauma-specific care to patients who disclose sexual assault and/or other physical violence; to who a healthcare provider suspects was sexually and/or physically assaulted; or those who are accused or disclose they are accused of having committed, or having engaged in, sexual assault, unwanted or reportable sexual violence and/or other unwanted or reportable physical violence This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Basic Requirement Degree: A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.

This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.

Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.).

Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and you must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination Licensure Exemption: Federal employees currently assigned to positions in this occupational series (0610) as of September 2017 will be considered to have met the basic requirements for the position occupied.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement, licensure above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: At least One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service, providing trauma-informed care to patients disclosing sexual assault or other forms of physical violence, and ensuring they receive prompt, coordinated, competent, and compassionate healthcare, support, and education.

Major Duties:

  • Provides MTF program oversight in coordination with the Forensic Healthcare Program Market Coordinator (FHP-MC).
  • Determines the optimal trauma-informed and patient-specific medical and forensic healthcare for patients with a disclosure of sexual assault and/or other physical violence.
  • Responsible for facilitating the medical care of the patients in the outpatient setting, in addition to developing the plan of care.
  • Applies knowledge of biomedical/medico-legal expertise in medical intervention and follow up care to a specific patient population (victims and accused).
  • Maintains medical tracking and monitoring of patients following sexual assault, interpersonal/domestic violence, and child abuse/sexual abuse
