The primary purpose of this position is to provide executive support to the Senior leadership at 33 Fighter Wing to monitor progress of subordinate organizations in meeting program objectives, goals and plans to consolidate inputs to existing plans and programs, and to make necessary adjustments and modifications to meet the objectives of the commander.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes: (1) Comprehensive knowledge of duties, priorities, commitments, policies and program goals of the senior leadership within the command (2) Assessing and determining the relevance of information to address complex issues and support decision making (3) Independently performing non routine administrative functions including: screening correspondence and visitors, coordinating and scheduling high-level conferences and meetings, and providing authoritative administrative guidance to subordinate organizations (4) Knowledge of Air Force, Air Education and Training, Command wing program goals, objectives, work processes and operations to plan, schedule and conduct projects and studies to evaluate and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the work operations (5) Knowledge of human and manpower resources to analyze and evaluate proposed changes in mission, funding, rightsizing initiatives, reorganizing, and manpower cost reduction templates.
OR EDUCATION: Must have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Knowledge of, and skill in applying, analytical and evaluative techniques concerning organizational missions and staff operations management concepts, principles, methodologies, major issues, goals, objectives, and organizational structure.
2. Knowledge of management and organization principles and theories, including standardized administrative practices and procedures common to the organization or area of responsibility. 3.
Knowledge of human and manpower resources to analyze and evaluate proposed changes in mission, funding, rightsizing initiatives, reorganizing, and manpower cost reduction templates, POM etc. 4.
Skill in and ability to develop, prepare, coordinate, staff, and implement administrative procedures, programs, and directives; ability to gather, interpret, and analyze information to support organizational decision-making.
5. Ability to gather, assemble and analyze facts, draw conclusions, conduct analysis, devise recommended solutions and prepare paper or reports for top management to use in decision making. 6.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Plans, organizes, directs and executes the activities of the organization to ensure compliance with the goals and objectives of the commander.
Performs a wide variety of administrative, analytical and staff support.
Performs day-to-day operations including, but not limited to, responding to requests for assistance and access; tasking action where possible, or follow up on appropriate action with organization action officers; assists with planning, directing, and organizing functions assigned to or directed by the executive leadership within the organization.
Assists with human resource issues for the Commander and seventeen wing staff directorates on military and civilian personnel matters.
Maintains supervisor's calendar, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings and/ or conferences including those involving staff from outside the immediate office.
Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs.
