Come join the Iowa DOT to support the statewide Vehicle Services Team! The Iowa Department of Transportation's Vehicle Services team is made up of seven employees.
These dedicated employees provide polite, quality and professional customer service and meet customer needs in all program areas of the office.
This position supports the customer service needs of the Vehicle Services Department by administering the state's Official Vehicle Title and Registrations, Title Bonds, Personalized and Specialty plates and Persons with Disabilities placards and stickers.

Shift: Monday to Friday; 40 hours a week
Location: Customer Service Bureau, Motor Vehicle Division, Ankeny, Iowa 50021
What you will need to succeed in this position:
The specific tasks for this position may include any or all of the following:
Review customer applications and requests for all special license plates. Verify ownership and documentation.
Take appropriate action to approve or deny the plate application based on the qualifications and fees. Enter information into the Vehicle Registration & Titling (VRT) System.
Return incomplete and denied applications to customer.
Review and approve applications for the issuance of official titles, registrations and plates to state, county, school and city governmental entities. Enter application information into the VRT System.
Send title, registration and plates, if necessary, to appropriate agency. Review plate requests for issuance.
Review and process bonded title applications and supporting documents when Code/Rule requirements are met. Research and establish vehicle data, determine and establish bond amount.
Maintain bond application files. Enter vehicle and bond data on to the VR&T System. Notify BIIP Investigator with vehicle discrepancies.
