Summary

This job is for an Administrative Officer in the Georgia Air National Guard, where you'll handle day-to-day management tasks, solve problems, and support leadership by improving processes and communicating with teams inside and outside the organization.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This position is for an Administrative Officer, Position Description Number D2368000 at the 116th Force Support Squadron located on Robins AFB, Georgia.

This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Air National Guard membership.

Area of Consideration: Open to current members of the Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve or Air Force Active Duty.

General Experience: Candidate must possess experience, education or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations; supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques; and experience using computer and automation systems.

Specialized Experience: Candidate must possess at least 36 months experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; experience preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; experience evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources; experience utilizing the organization, its mission and the organizational staff procedures; experience using quantitative and qualitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of administrative and technical programs; experience developing the mission and work processes of programs throughout the military organization and multi level agencies; and experience in analytical and investigative techniques.

Specialized Experience, Supervisory: Candidate must possess experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Major Duties:

As an Administrative Officer, GS-0341-12, you will: Ensure internal systems and procedures for carrying out the organization's administrative functions meet the requirements of balancing costs, benefits, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Accomplish or assign actions/staff work to subject matter experts/functional proponents as appropriate based on knowledge of organizational responsibilities, familiarity with subject matter, and broad guidance from the command group.

Work relieves Wing leadership of all but the most pressing and necessary decision and action policies.

Provide sound research, analysis, advisory and consultation to the Command team; recommend improvements in the formulation and application of policies and procedures.

Address Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) initiatives, legislative activities, and responses to congressional inquiries.

Support the organization through the development and oversight of the knowledge management program.

Act as an intermediary to resolve significant or controversial issues, problems and disagreements that are referred to Commander.

Direct the management of a myriad of unique, atypical, and unrelated problems.

Establish communication channels internal and external to the organization; keep internal and external customers as well as unit members, traditional and full time, informed and facilitates communication laterally and horizontally throughout the organization.

Resolve day-to-day administrative and management problems, plan, develop, and execute organization's Administrative Management Program (AMP).

Oversee administrative programs and projects that consist of a variety of functions, efforts result in increased accuracy, productivity and efficiency; develop administrative guidelines and standard operating procedures.

Prepare, administer, collaborate and consolidate information in support of knowledge management requirements, train personnel on system utilization and information sharing; partner with administrators to analyze and synthesize data, develop and publish command level strategic management plan, provide informational learning tools, publish and share pre, during, and post exercise or inspection information and results to develop a strong information sharing and learning environment.

Facilitate a team effort with internal and external stakeholders in the areas of Air Expeditionary Force (AEF), deployments, Exercise Evaluation Team (EET), Disaster Response Force, legal and human capital management to resolve issues.

Prepare charts, graphs, oral and written communications using sound analytical methods, interpersonal writing and communication principles, practices, and techniques.

Initiate, plan, direct, and/or participate in special studies and projects in areas such as; resource utilization, personnel management, logistical support, knowledge management, readiness programs, etc.

Research, review, and analyze processes and procedures to determine the overall applicability, effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of activities and programs; develop final report and briefing, make recommendations that impact high level decision making, and increase efficiency.

Direct and oversee actions required to implement procedural changes, conduct in-process efficiency reviews, participate in site visits, complete after action reports, maintain historical data; ensure documented evidence is provided to support cost savings without compromising required standards of readiness, accuracy, effectiveness, and/or safety.

Provide expertise, guide team or independently conduct process improvement studies, impacting future organizational effectiveness and efficiency in support of all areas of Wing management.

Serve as the performance, process improvement coordinator, develop and execute process improvement studies that require the adaptation of analytical techniques to: (a) identify and resolve complex issues or problems, (b) develop new or modified work methods or (c) to make recommendations for improving program effectiveness and organizational productivity.

Analyze current and proposed operating programs to evaluate actual and potential effectiveness in achieving organizational objectives.

Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated reporting systems affecting programs with interrelated functions and operations.

Collaborates with inter-disciplinary team, internal and external to the State to support effective program evaluation, operations and milestones.

Represent the Wing in meetings with congressional, state and local officials, special interest and business group spokespersons to market and advertise ANG programs, activities, and requirements to gain support for ANG missions.

Attend community functions and serves as protocol specialist, spokesperson to create public interest in ANG programs.

Provide oversight, coordination and collaboration as it pertains to protocol functions. Perform other duties as assigned.
