Job Description

Summary

This role involves supporting the management of procurement and contracts for the U.S.

Pacific Fleet, including reviewing documents, analyzing processes, and ensuring timely acquisitions to support naval operations.

A good fit would be someone with experience in government contracting who enjoys detail-oriented work and improving workflows in a military environment.

It's based in Hawaii and requires a solid understanding of federal rules for buying and managing supplies or services.

Full Job Description

You will serve as an ACQUISITION PROGRAM ASSISTANT MANAGER in the CHIEF OF STAFF AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DIRECTORATE (CODE N02) of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience evaluating acquisition statutes, regulations, directives and procedures in addition to applying the understanding of contract performance management, contract administration, quality assurance, and procurement in support of naval operations.

  • You will utilize acquisition statutes, regulation, directives and procedures as well as business practices associated to support the command.
  • You will assist the Headquarters staff with developing procurement documents( ie. justification and approvals, determination and findings, evaluation criteria, ect.)
  • You will review contract documents for accuracy and adequacy.
  • You will establish requirements for and expedite/review consolidation of all procurement packages input to meet timely and technical requirements of assigned acquisitions.
  • You will analyze acquisition planning methodologies and processes.
  • You will make recommendations for improved workflows to better capture acquisition requirements from leadership teams.
  • You will collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data in significant areas relating to procurement and contract operations.
  • You will establish and maintain controls to ensure that contract award is accomplished according to guidelines and timelines.
  • You will perform in depth reviews and analysis of staff member performance efforts to verify progress and monitor status of contractor performance.
