This job involves handling payroll tasks for the Seattle Fire Department, such as processing employee pay, managing time off, fixing errors in timesheets, and answering staff questions about pay and policies.

The Seattle Fire Department is seeking a regular, full-time Accounting Technician II to join the Payroll Unit of the Finance Department.
The Accounting Technician II will work with a team that performs tasks related to payroll as well as accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, FLSA reporting, legal inquiries, and benefits.
This position will report to the Payroll Supervisor.
The position will operate out of Seattle Fire Department’s Headquarters building in Pioneer Square. Some remote work will be available.
Two years of previous accounting/booking experience or one year as an Account Technician I is required. A combination of education/experience/training which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class will be considered.

The full salary range for this position is $35.00 - $39.18 per hour.
