Full Job Description

You will serve as an ACCOUNTANT in the COMMANDER NAVY REGION of COMNAVREG MIDLANT NORFOLK.

FOR THE GS-11 GRADE LEVEL: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Processing financial transactions and compiling financial statements for financial reporting; 2) Demonstrating the use of analytical tools in the review of accounting data; 3) Processing transactions and extracting data from automated, complex accounting systems, such as NAVY ERP; 4) Applying fiscal law and accounting processes and principles in the preparation of financial reports.

  • You will reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts to ensure that data and reports are balanced.
  • You will present accounting information to managers for use in decision making.
  • You will discuss accounting processes, functional requirements, and upcoming projects with business units within an organization.
  • You will draft accounting policy and regulatory interpretations to meet organizational needs.
