Full Job Description

This position is located at Detroit Arsenal's FMWR Greens Operations Department. The Duty Station will be at the Selfridge Golf Course. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Six (6) month of laboring experience required.

Must be able to work under general supervision, responding to initial oral or written instructions and completing assigned tasks. Experience must be reflected on resume to receive credit. Major Duties:

  • Perform heavy physical labor requiring the frequent lifting and carrying of items and furniture weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more.
  • Operate heavy powered equipment performing tasks that require prior work experience and training.
  • Such tasks include ground maintenance on grades and slopes, digging ditches and trenches, washing buildings using high pressure sprayers, operating tillers to prepare lawns for sod and bedding plants, and cutting trees using axes or chain saws.
  • Performs general maintenance of NAF facilities requiring use of heavy powered equipment and heavy tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
